Coverage details
Covers SR-2 from Islip Saddle and SR-138 / SR-2 from I-15 — some nearby roads aren't monitored. See what's included.
This status covers two known Wrightwood access paths: the east approach from the I-15 / SR-138 junction to SR-2, through Sheep Creek Drive and the county line, to Big Pines Highway; and the west approach on SR-2 from Islip Saddle through Vincent Gulch and Big Pines Highway to Sheep Creek Drive.
Both modeled paths contain the Mountain High East and West corridor. The standing District 8 Islip Saddle-to-Vincent Gulch closure is inside only the west path; it does not make the east approach unavailable. SR-2 west of Islip Saddle, District 7's Newcomb's Ranch-to-Islip span, resort entrances, parking roads, and other local roads beyond the modeled state-highway approaches aren't monitored.
Conditions can change quickly in the mountains. This page never replaces chain requirements, closures, or official Caltrans guidance. This boundary supports no claim about SR-2 west of Islip Saddle, District 7's Newcomb's Ranch-to-Islip span, resort entrances, parking roads, or local roads beyond the modeled approaches. Neither surface makes a safe-to-drive or all-clear claim.
